There are many different breeds of dog and choosing the right one for you or your family can be a difficult choice as there is several different aspects to consider. This article may help you decide on the one you want by naming the dogs with the best training abilities.
There are no guarantees with which dog breeds will behave in certain ways and there will always be exceptions in every breed of dog but there are many characteristics that you can look out for when finding the correct breed for you, here are some of the top dogs in order of ease to train and how quickly they pick up the different tasks and activities.
Labrador Retriever
The Labrador retriever is a very affectionate dog that takes well to unknown strangers, very friendly and the best of our choice of dogs that are easy to train.
Australian Cattle Dog
The Australian cattle dog is yet another easy breed to train and teach new tricks to due to their passion for learning, not so good with other pets and may be a bad choice if other pets are around at your home.
Sheepdog
Sheepdogs are renowned for being a good well behaved training dog on places such as farms and holdings. Although good and faithful to owners, these dogs donât take so well to other people who are not familiar, if you have many visitors to your home it may be a choice of breed.
Australian Shepherd
This is again a dog with very high drive to learn new things and explore things further but is not as friendly as the Labrador retriever at the top of the list and is not as energetic either, but is a good protector of the home.
Border Collie
The border collie is not as trainer friendly as some of the breeds above but is a very hard working dog with lots of affection and energy. The border collie enjoys challenges and challenging training schedules. If you cannot spare at least an hour of intense exercise this might not be the co [...] Read ori! ginal po st: Dog Training Easiest Dogs to Train Fetched from http://dog-gonnit.com
I bet if you are reading this, you happen to have a new puppy with sharp little teeth who is fond of biting pretty much everything. That probably has included your family's hands and feet, and probably any loose shoes lying around, if not even the furniture.I have listed a few good ideas for helping you deal with your puppy's biting and chewing stage. - Be sure to get some chew toys for your new puppy. He's teething, so hes going to have to bite something, and these chew toys are the perfect substitutes for your hands and feet. As you start playing with your puppy and he gets too rough, stop him by placing your hand over his mouth to hold it shut. You should keep his mouth closed until he becomes submissive and accepts your hand over his mouth without struggling. He may squirm around because he won't like his mouth being held shut-so soothe him with a calm voice and hold him still with your other hand. Without raising your voice firmly tell him "no biting". You want to use the calm but firm voice so he doesn't become nervous and continue resisting longer. The calmer he stays, the quicker hell become submissive. Once he has become submissive and stopped struggling, it is time to remove your hand from his mouth, and offer him his chew toy as a wonderful substitute to human flesh. Give him praise as soon as he starts to chew on the toy.Every time you play with the pup, repeat giving him the chew toy as needed and he will soon associate the praise-the positive reinforcement- with chewing on the approved chew toy.Stay patient and don't get mad at your puppy for not learning quickly-it could take some time to get the idea across), and definitely be sure never to hit him for his playing rough and biting you. This type of negative reinforcement will hurt you progress with training your puppy by undermining [...]

By Cameron Lassiter Should you purchase it? Is it a scam? Is it a rip off or good advice? Folks are talking about the "Sit Stay Fetch" e-book. Some folk think it is a con or waste of money. However, based on my research and everything I've found from dog lovers who have purchased it supports the idea that "Sit Stay Fetch" really delivers and the e-book is definitely worth the cash to purchase it. The book is for the dog lover, of any level - from first-timer to experienced owner - who wants a better behaved dog! If you're about to purchase your first pooch, consider reading this book first. The first couple of chapters go into detail on breeds, knowing what you are getting into will save you a lot of aggravation. There are lots of animal facts to consider before deciding on what sort of dog is best. If you already have your new puppy, read it anyway! You'll learn a lot. A few chapters in is where it gets to the good stuff, the actual coaching. Here Daniel Stevens, the author of the Sit Stay Fetch ebook ( Now retitled to'Dog coaching Secrets' ), explains in detail all the steps of coaching your dog. Daniel gives you an easy-to-follow guide so that you know what to do first, second and last to get the desired behavior from your dog, and you also know what to do if he DOESN'T follow the directions you're giving him. If you're worried it won't work for your dog - don't worry. This has worked for thousands of dogs and dog owners from around the world. If you're still nervous, take a look at Steven's 8-week guarantee. You can try it before you buy it (and even train your dog during that time) to make sure the book is EXACTLY what you're looking for and that the techniques work for YOUR dog. I think that this book is worth purchasing if you want a well behaved dog so you know you can have guests over without 'Spot' pooping on the rug, or 'Fluffy' gnawing your shoe to bits while you are in the other room. If nothing else, it is worth trying. I have seen nothing but positive praise for how well the Sit Stay Fetch e book is broken down, how easy it is to follow, and how much information is actually in the book. Because this dog coaching manual is delivered as an electronic book, you simply download it as a .pdf file onto your PC, you can open it and read it immediately without caring about shipping costs or waiting time. Plus, it's truly straightforward to scroll down to the parts you need to read. That's awesome! If you're looking for a certain section of the E-book, it's easy to search within the PDF document to find "COME" or "DOWN" or sections explaining other commands you'd like to teach. Well, the short of it really is: Buy the e-book. It is great for training dogs and learning about them, it works even if you've got an older dog ( not a puppy ) or multiple dogs in your house that need to be trained. Your dogs will enjoy the challenge and so will you! If you want your dog to sit, stay, and fetch, download this book!

Is your dog one of those that is so excited to get outside that he runs out the door in front of you? If so, you will be glad to learn how to stop this problem. Happily, you can easily learn how to correct this behavior with some practice. - You will want to start this type of training with one of the house's inner doors-not the front door. This will make it a lot easier to control the dog until he learns not to go charging through doors in front of you. As you approach a door within your house you'll probably notice how your dog will position himself to get through it before you do. . If he's had obedience training he'll already know these two very basic commands, and do what you say. Once he is in position, make sure you give him a reward and lots of affection and praise-make him feel good about the training. It might take a minute for him to really relax and settle down, so wait a little before beginning to open the door again. OK, when he relaxes, go ahead and open the door. As he sees the door open, he most likely will quickly leave the sit and stay position, and be well on his way to going through that door. This will probably happen at first, but don't let it upset you. Just keep repeating the work with sit and stay until he waits to be told to move to the door.
- The next step is to try opening the dog just far enough for you to slip through. It is less of a temptation for him if the door is just partially opened. He may try to get up from his sit and stay position, but quickly return him to his spot and again command him to sit and stay. You will have to keep repeating this stage till he demonstrates he has learned to stop running through the doorway by remaining in the sit and stay position- even after you have passed through the door to the other side.
By John Falcone If you are given the choice between spending around $40 on a dog training manual or spending hundreds of dollars for the services of a professional dog trainer to get virtually the same results which would you choose? If you have the spare time and the desire to learn some new things then you can train your dog every bit as effectively as a professional can. All pet owners know how exasperating it can be to try and get their pet to stop bad behaviors. Most of us have tried persistently to teach a dog to stop barking or chewing on the furniture or some other crazy making activity, to no avail. Our inability to communicate our desires to our dog can become overwhelming and even lead cause us to give the beloved pet away. By using a reputable dog training manual created by a professional dog trainer even someone that is a dog owner for the first time can effectively teach their dog obedience, proper behavior and how to follow commands. These dog training manuals are available to buy on the Internet and are instantly accessed in the form of an e-book and instructional videos. There is a lot of information on the internet and you can pick up tidbits of advice on dog training but this method does not offer a comprehensive, foolproof approach. A dog training manual like Secrets to Dog training, that you will find online, will give you everything you need to know in one place without having to search hither and yon. It is authored by a professional dog trainer and contains dog training techniques coupled along with real-life case studies. The publication is in the form of an e-book that you can read right on your computer screen or downloaded to your computer and then print it out as a hard copy to take with you anywhere you wish. It also comes with a 30 minute instructional video that shows different dog training methods in action. Not only is it an advantage to purchase a dog training manual online because of the cost savings and convenience of training a dog from your home, but there are other benefits as well. Chief among them is the fact that because you are actually doing the dog training in your home the lessons will be more effective because that is in fact the environment in which the dog lives. A quality dog training manual will walk the dog owner through the necessary techniques in a step-by-step fashion that will in fact make that person a proficient dog trainer in their own right. It basically becomes a transfer of knowledge and there are no prior skills necessary to learn how to be an effective dog trainer. They also allow you to focus on any area that may require your immediate attention such as how to stop a dog from barking, biting, doing their business in the house, etc., etc. The true beauty of an effective dog training manual is in its simplicity. The benefits of being able to customize your training lessons cannot be overstated. Taking the time and effort to train your dog makes being a dog owner a much more enjoyable experience. It will also result in a happier, healthier pet. Dogs are happiest when they know their boundaries and how they are expected to behave. Training your dog at home also gives you plenty of time to have fun with your dog. Teaching him new tricks and bonding with a pet makes the whole experience worthwhile.
By Amy Nutt Training cats and dogs to use the litter box or to scratch at the door is simple if you start early. Usually the earlier the pet, the faster they will learn as long as they are weaned from their mother. The best performing dogs and cats have been started early and constantly praised for their efforts. Animals vary in personality so do not fear if the dog or cat doesn't learn right away. Be patient and loving with your animal. If the pet does not learn after many weeks of training, something could be wrong. It might be a behavioral or medical problem. Check with your animal's vet if you become concerned. Kittens can be litter trained any time after 4 weeks. If the kitten is still around its mother, set up a smaller litter box next to the mother's larger litter box. The cat will learn by watching and eventually start using it as well. If the cat does not have its mother to draw an example from, or it is still not learning to use the little box as it gets older, you have a little more work to do, but do not be alarmed. All animals vary on their learning abilities. Try putting the cat and its litter box in a small room such as a bathroom or laundry room, with food and water. Check every hour to see if the cat has used the box correctly. Do this one more time until the cat has used the litter box again correctly, then praise the cat, and remove its supplies back into the rest of the house. Place the litter box where you would like then show the cat where it is located. Always make sure the litter box is clean because cats have a tendency to not use a litter box if it is constantly dirty. Clean the box once a day in order to avoid this. Anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks is acceptable to start potty training a puppy. As soon as a puppy can start going outside, do so. Take the dog out after eating, playing, and waking up and show it an area where it is acceptable to go. Also, pay attention to what the puppy does inside. If the puppy is sniffing around the house, take the dog to its spot outside. Pee-pads are also acceptable if you have a very young or small dog, but training a dog to do its business outside is always less messy. Talk to the dog whenever you take it out. Phrases like "Let's go outside" or "Let's go potty" said excitedly will eventually be learned by the dog. When the dog finally does do its business outside, praise him or her immensely. Give the dog treats and a lot of attention. After the dog is potty trained, obedience training can begin via at home or dog training classes at your local humane society or local pet stores like Petsmart or PetCo.

They cover it all: naming the puppy, training with eye contact and jingling keys, establishing the best sleeping arrangements, even dealing with pet loneliness. Owners are advised to think of themselves as the dog's alpha figure, to train with praise instead of punishment, and to beware of becoming the dog's maid or doorman. Throughout, the authors reflect on the deep spiritual connection possible between humans and dogs. Generations of dogs have been trained with the bestselling 1978 edition of this book. This apparently is the top reason for dogs being taken to dog rescue charities. It is often frustrating and often dog walkers are asked to give advice, so a key part of puppy care. The general consensus as to the best method is to use a cage. Most breeders will {use a cratehave used one}, and will often sell on the crate, as the puppy is used to it. This is based on the premise that puppies do not like to soil their beds and in a cage would be forced to sleep in the mess. Whilst in these confines the puppy will try to manage their bladder. Young pups from 9 weeks or so should last around 8 hours. During potty training, place the pup inside the crate when he cannot be watched, whilst you are say reading to the children. Just before to placing pup into the cage or taking him out of the cage, take him outside so he can go to the toilet. There should never be any water or food in the cage, just a blanket and perhaps a toy to occupy his time. As time goes by and the puppy performs better, you can leave the puppy for longer periods out of the crate. The cage needs to be right size, enough floor area for him to lie down. But not so large he could urinate in a corner. The crate is useful for the dogs whole life, so to avoid replacing crated as he grows, buy one large enough for his mature size, with a partition that you can move as he grows. The two alternatives to cage toilet training a puppy are constant supervision, which in todays busy life is too difficult for most people. To do this, you need to be with the puppy constantly, so you can be ready when you see his pre-potty pattern, such as sniffing the floor. Then taking him straight out to do his business, then return him straight back, remembering to give him praise and verbal clues such as good dog. The puppy needs to realise why he was taken outside was for the potty, noth [...] Read ori! ginal po st: Puppy Potty Training Top Tips Fetched from http://dog-gonnit.com

By Trevor Weir Hello. You have seen the scenario where someone is walking in the park with their cute puppy on a leash. As you walk towards it you can see it's joy in living each and every second as its tail starts wagging at high speed. The high pitched yip yip yip repeated stops you in your tracks and like everyone else in the park, you turn to see what has happened to the joyful puppy. But your turn isn't quite finished before you hear the deeper growl of another dog. Instinctively, you wish the puppy well and hope that the situation can be brought under control. You might even move towards the fracas in an effort to help calm the situation down. There are a myriad of reasons for what we call bad behavior on the part of canines. Inbreeding, bad upbringing, chronic damage such as poor dental health. Any of these can be contributing factors as to why a dog would suddenly go off in a public area. My neighbor tells the story of his dog which is actually half dog and half Northern wolf. A little less than a year prior, he had chained his big wolf puppy to the tail gate of his chevy pickup. He had then gone inside for lunch while the puppy played outside. He says he wasn't inside more than about 15 minutes before a deep snarl and a shout caused him to run to the front door. A Pit Bull Terrier had torn itself loose from its owner and was running full speed at his tied dog. His dog went suddenly silent and ears perked alert as it appeared to test the length on its leash. It backed up quickly towards the car and half sat and waited the second and a half for the pit bull to cross the 40 feet between them. In less than a blink the Pit Bull was high in the air and reaching for his puppy's jugular. However, his puppy was no longer there at all. Launching itself a split second earlier it was also in the air and much higher than the pit Bull. The pit Bull attempted to twist before it even hit the ground, but the wolf puppy was faster yet and by then had a grip on the throat of the pit Bull. A low stern warning issued from the throat of my neighbor's dog and the pit Bull quietened for a moment. The bigger dog shook it once more and released it with a toss of its jaw. The pit bull landed and without touching ground ( that's what witnesses say ) twisted and was airborne across the 10 feet distance. The slightly bigger half wolf puppy crouched and met the pit Bull midair but this time instead of warning it, it snapped its neck and well, that was that. The whole thing couldn't have taken more than 5 seconds, both owners were shocked and stupefied. The half wolf puppy backed away from the still body of the pitBull and sank down as its eyes looked around at the by then growing audience. I don't wish any animal ill, but we were later told that that pit bull was already under probation for having attacked a child the year before. In Ontario, a dog can be put down for that behavior but apparently this happened weeks before some law was passed and the witnesses had differing stories so the pit bull was in its owners care while the case was being decided. Nature does what nature does, and its sometimes sad when its your dog that has been put down, even though you know it may have been its fault but still...
By James French Animal Communication allows a human to share detailed information with any animal. Because our animals use feelings and not words, animal communication is the ability to tune into the feelings and discover how are animals think and feel both on physical and emotional levels. Understand how you can use this heart felt language by following the 6 simple steps below. 1 know that this is possible! If you really do not believe that it is possible then your mind will be questioning the communication even before you start. Your doubts will be much louder than the animals feeling and you will not make a clear connection. 2 Quieten your mind Every thought that we have creates a specific feeling! To be able to pick up on another beings thoughts we must quieten down our own first. Other wise we will only be focused on our own mind and feelings and not theirs. 3 Focus you attention on the animal On a feeling level when you put your full attention with the animal you become as one. When your feelings are one with the animals then you are truly connected and your animal communication will flow. 4 Direct questions to them Connecting to the animals feeling using your full attention means that on a deeper level you will be linked into all the information about that animal. We can not take all this information in on a conscious level as it would be far too overwhelming. By asking questions this acts like a filter where that specific detail can be moved to our conscious mind. 5 Know what to expect This is a feeling language and when you pick the feeling up it is usually translated automatically by your mind using your senses. The feeling creates images, sounds, touch, smell and taste. These come in to your mind like memories. 6 Keep the information raw Keep the information as close to and as raw as you experienced it in your mind. It is easy to add extra thinking on top. This will change the nature of the communication and it will not be so accurate. The feeling language of animal communication is easy to tap into as it uses skills that us human are using every day. This connection really develops your relationship with your animals and any other animal that you wish to get closer to. We are happy for you to contact us regarding any questions on animal communication.
Dog leashes or leads are an extremely essential training tool or even just for general care and wellbeing for your dog. Whether you use your leash for taking you dog for long walks or only use it for teaching your dog right from wrong in the comfort of your back garden, a lead is always an important buy for you and your dog.
As a dog owner and a consumer, your choice of dog leads/leashes is as you might expect, huge. With so much choice and variations, choosing which lead or leash to use can be a bigger challenge than the actual training of your dog.
So what are the different kinds of leads and leashes? Well trust me there are thousands out there to choose from, I will only go through a few of the more popular types of leash as Iâm sure there are many different types of leads being brought onto the market every week and it would be an impossible task to keep track of all of them.
In the next part of this article I will first go through the different types of lead then finish off with my personal views and preferences.
Extending leads
These do exactly what is says, they âextendâ away from the owner for a certain distance before running out of slack. With these leashes the owner has control of when to stop the lead extending further and can be used just like a normal leash if needs be.
Slip leads
These leads are a simple type of lead with a loop on both sides normally with and adjustable clip at the end that tightens when pulled or loosens around the dogâs neck for comfort when there is no pulling. Used by many for dog training.
Nylon leads
This is the cheaper option of dog lead, the simplest form of dog leash available, often causes rubbing and digging into your dogâs skin. Nylon leashes are best avoided.
Bungee leads
These leads help to eliminate the slack that other leads cause so t [...] Read ori! ginal po st: Dog Training Best Dog Leads and Leashes Fetched from http://dog-gonnit.com

By James French There are so many different approaches when it comes to training animals. The old school way, this is through the feeling of we are more superior and is based on dominance. The animal had better do what it is told! Then we have the I love my animal so much that it does not matter what they do, even when the animal is showing very disturbing behaviour. Between these two examples there are many variations. So where do we find the right way of training our animals? A place where the animals and the humans get what they need from the relationship? Let have a look at these two ways and see what is happening for the animal on an emotional level. This hard approach has the animal responding through a fear aspect. They will do what is being asked in the fear of the consequence of not doing it. You can clearly see this in the repressed overly submissive behaviour. We can see this with horse training, this type of horse is not relaxed in its work and has jumpy movements. Basically their mind is so busy wondering what is going to happen that they find it hard to be present enough to really hear what is being asked. Now lets look at the opposite, here is an animal with way too much responsibility. The person is not teaching the animal and this produces a lack of confidence. Dogs with no guidance can become fearful and even over protective. In extreme cases they resort to aggression because they literally don't know any other way forward. This animal is also racing in their minds producing too much emotion to find their own confidence. I would like to show you a way of finding the right balance! Have a look at the video below. This is showing clearly that we can help an animal to be peaceful and this in turn creates the one true element needed in a good relationship, trust. [Training Animals With Trust] The special balance needed between an animal and a human is developed through trust. Then the dominant ways are completely pointless as there is a far stronger relationship. This moves the focus from telling the animal to truly teaching the animal. Your animal with naturally listen to you when they share this feeling of trust, as you will be someone who is trust worthy. The world of animal training is changing as more people discover much more efficient and rewarding ways in working with animals. It is not the animals who need or are going to change this it is us!
